Where is Matt Damon in Dublin? Pictures show star spotted jogging in Killiney Hill

Hollywood star Matt Damon was spotted on Tuesday jogging in Dublin’s leafy Killiney Hill.

The Contagion star, 49, was due to film a new Ridley Scott directed flick, The Last Duel here this month.

But due to COVID-19, it was put on “indefinite hiatus,” days before shooting was due to commence.

It seems the US born star has stayed put amid all of the travel restrictions currently in place, spotted getting his exercise in the Killiney area on Tuesday.

Speaking to Dublin Live, a local man, who spotted him during his run, said: “Matt Damon just jogged passed me, going up Killiney Hill.

“He’s actually tall enough, normally those lads are tiny,” he added.

The acting star has also been pictured out and about, posing with locals in the Dalkey area.

The 20th Century Studios period epic was due to film all over Ireland and had been slated for Christmas Day release by Disney with an international rollout January 8.

However, with the world coming to a standstill for the forseeable few months, it is unclear when production will begin on the film.

The screenplay - based on a book by Eric Jager - is written by Affleck, Damon and Nicole Holofcener, and focuses on a dispute between a knight and squire in Medieval France.

The film, also starring Jodie Comer and Adam Driver had been shooting in France before the planned move to Ireland.

Just weeks before the Covid 19 swept the globe, producers of the new Hollywood historical epic called for extras ahead of filming in Ireland.

Filming was set to mostly take place around Dublin, Wicklow, Meath and Tipperary - and producers said they were looking for ‘lots of film extras’ for large crowd scenes.
