Where is I'm A Celebrity filmed in Australia? ITV show back Down Under for the first time in three years

It's the show many people have been counting the days to and finally, after all the adverts, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here will return on Sunday night.

I'm A Celebrity has been delighting millions and millions of viewers for two decades now, making its debut back in the summer of 2022, when Tony Blackburn was crowned the first ever King of the Jungle. Since then, many others have followed in his winning footsteps, including Kerry Katona, Matt Willis, Vicky Pattison and reigning champion Danny Miller. Danny was crowned King of the Castle, after winning in Wales, where I'm A Celeb was forced to re-locate to in both 2020 and 2021 due to Covid.

But now finally, after three years away, hosts Ant and Dec and the rest of the I'm A Celeb crew are back Down Under for the new series. This year 's I'm A Celebrity line-up includes Boy George, Sue Cleaver and Jill Scott. Other stars ready for a slice of jungle life range from Charlene White to Owen Warner.

This week the ITV show hit the headlines after it was reported that former Health Secretary, Matt Hancock will be going in as a late arrival, with him since being snapped at Brisbane Airport.

Where is I'm A Celebrity filmed in Australia?

The I'm A Celebrity jungle is in Springbook National Park in Queensland, New South Wales. This year's production hasn't been without its issues, thanks to a spell of bad weather in the area. A spokesperson for the show said: "We closed site for 24 hours as a precautionary measure due to the inclement weather."

One big change for this year is where the celebs and their families will stay. Many fans will be familiar with the Palazzo Versace resort, with it featured in the Coming Out show. However, this year a switch has been made to the Marriott Gold Coast Resort. Rooms at the Palazzo Versace are said to start at £1,000, whereas the prices at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa start at a slightly more affordable £256.

On the decision to switch bases, a source told The Sun: "ITV has used the Versace ever since the series came to Queensland in 2004. Those classic scenes of the muddy, exhausted celebs arriving in the glamorous, gleaming lobby are part of I’m A Celeb’s very fabric.

"The new hotel is lovely, but just different to the bouji opulence of the Versace, which is so well-known to viewers.”
