Where in Wales was The Widow filmed?

ITV thriller The Widow came to a conclusion tonight after a dramatic eight-episode series starring Kate Beckinsale has kept viewers on the edge of their seats for the past month.

The show has followed Beckinsale's character, Georgia, who believes that her husband Will died in a plane crash in the Congo three years before the show is set.

Since the accident, she has lived as a recluse in the Welsh countryside, until she believes she sees him on a news TV clip, and sets out to find out if he is still alive.

Filming the series saw the actors and crew head take in scenery from South Africa to Wales' very own Brecon Beacons.

The scenes where we see Georgia living in a hut and a rambling over rugged terrain were actually filmed in Powys

The Widow’s producer, Eliza Mellor, told the Radio Times : "It was absolutely freezing.

"One day we couldn’t even get to location. The plus side was that it looked amazing with the snow.”

On the choice of Wales, Mellor added: "We needed somewhere you could feel that Georgia had cut herself off from her previous life, and it needed to be somewhere harsh."
