Just moments ago, the 2019-2020 college football AP preseason poll was released. The top 25 is littered with SEC teams, and many of UGA’s upcoming opponents.

Georgia comes in respectfully at the #3 spot, trailing just Alabama and Clemson. The SEC continues its dominance, with four teams in the top-10 and six in the top-25.
Georgia will face off against four teams in the preseason top-25 this season.
The Bulldogs’ first matchup comes week four with a headliner home game against #9 Notre Dame. The Dawgs took care of business in South Bend two seasons ago, winning 20-19 in Jake Fromm’s first collegiate start.
The next top-25 matchup will be in Jacksonville as the Dawgs will take on #8 Florida in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. UGA hasn’t lost this rivalry in over 1,000 days.
Two weeks later brings an away game at #16 Auburn. The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry has gone the Bulldogs’ way the past two seasons, with a combined score of 55-17 in favor of Georgia.
Lastly, the Bulldogs will face SEC West recently acquired #12 Texas A&M. Georgia doesn’t have much of a history with the Aggies – the last matchup coming in the 2009 Independence Bowl where the Dawgs won 44-20. Prior to that the two teams haven’t played each other since UGA’s 1980 National Championship season, where Georgia won 42-0.
The Bulldogs will be faced with challenges this year with the 2nd toughest schedule in the SEC, and the 15th toughest schedule in college football.
With just 12 days until kickoff in Nashville and the AP preseason top-25 out, football is finally back.
