Where does ESPN rank Vikings’ roster?

The folks over at ESPN with Pro Football Focus ranked each team’s roster as we head into the 2019 season.

The Minnesota Vikings rank ninth overall, and second among NFC North teams. The Bears ranked fifth, the Packers rank 15th and the Lions rank 20th.

The article says the Vikings biggest strength is their passing game, their biggest weakness is the interior offensive line, and the X-factor is the play of safety Anthony Harris.

It’s hard to really argue with this. The Vikings have a solid one-two punch of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs at wide receiver. When you add in Kyle Rudolph and rookie Irv Smith Jr. as targets for Kirk Cousins, this unit should be solid once again.

While the Vikings did draft center Garrett Bradbury in the first round, there are still plenty of questions surrounding an offensive line that was downright miserable.

As for Harris, he finished with the league’s third-best Pro Football Focus grade among safeties last season, and that was enough for the Vikings to move on from Andrew Sendejo and make Harris the full-time starter. We’ll see if he can back up his career season in a contract year.
