Where do Vikings rank in early 2019 power rankings?

We are in kind of a dead period for NFL news. That means mock draft and power ranking season.

Our friend Alan Siegel over at Touchdown Wire put together his early 2019 power rankings.

The Vikings ranked 14th on that list.

Here’s what Siegel wrote about the Vikings:

The Vikings were supposed to be a Super Bowl contender in 2018. Instead they finished 8-7-1 and missed the playoffs. Minnesota has a talented defense and great receivers in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. But is Kirk Cousins the weak link? The quarterback had an up-and-down year; he’ll need to be better if the Vikings want to be an elite team in 2019.

As a Vikings fan, of course you’d like the team to be higher. But given how they performed last season, this spot seems about right. Super Bowl is no longer the goal. The goal is now to make the playoffs and see what happens after that. An improved offensive line this offseason is the start.
