Where do Georgia football opponents rank in the Amway Coaches Poll?

The USA TODAY Amway Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday and Georgia remains sitting pretty at No. 3 in the rankings.

Georgia came out of week one with a 30-6 win over Vanderbilt in Nashville. A lot of Georgia fans would have liked to see a wider margin on the scoreboard, but aside from some silly penalties there was not a lot that Georgia did wrong on Saturday.

The coaches agreed, apparently, leaving Georgia at No. 3 in the rankings, where is started the season.

The top ten is as follows:

1) Clemson

2) Alabama

3) Georgia

4) Oklahoma

5) Ohio State

6) LSU

7) Michigan

8) Notre Dame

9) Texas

10) Florida

At No. 1 and No. 2 remains Clemson and Alabama. Clemson had a nice showing on the opening weekend, beating Georgia Tech big 52-14. Alabama, a predicted future SEC Championship Game opponent, took down Duke this past Saturday 42-3. Neither team looked to play to their full potential, though.

Regarding future Georgia opponents on the 2019 schedule, there was a decent amount of movement in the poll today.

For starters, Florida, which defeated Miami by a slim margin, dropped from No. 8 to No. 10. The Gators better figure things out fast in Gainesville if they want to compete for the division with Georgia.

The Bulldogs’ week 4 opponent, Notre Dame, had a subpar showing vs Louisville on Monday night. However, thanks to Florida dropping two spots, the Irish were able to move from No. 9 to No. 8.

Annual rival Auburn came into Saturday ranked No. 16, but after an impressive win over the then-ranked No. 11 Oregon Ducks, the Tigers have jumped to No. 13 in the polls.

November 23rd opponent Texas A&M looked sound against Texas State, winning 41-17 and kept its ranking of No. 11.

And just for fun, let’s take a look at some more future opponents:

South Carolina lost to UNC, Tennessee was upset by Georgia State, Wyoming beat Missouri, Georgia Tech lost big to Clemson and Kentucky struggled in a win over Toledo.
