Where did the UK come in Eurovision 2019? Michael Rice comes last in shock result

Michael Rice for the UK finished last place in a sad surprise during Eurovision 2019 with just 16 points.

As the jury votes and the public votes were combined, Michael dropped to the bottom of the board.

Only receiving three points from the public, it meant there was no chance of him moving over to the other side of the board.

From 8pm viewers witnessed 26 countries take to the stage in a bid to come out on top.

Michael was this year's entry representing the United Kingdom, with his track Bigger than Us.

Those watching certainly thought he had a good chance of winning, hoping countries would vote for him.

As the results began to come in, unfortunately Michael received few points.

While Sweden, Italy and others stormed ahead, the UK remained on the second side of the board.

Viewers took to Twitter as it was confirmed Michael was in last place, with many calling out the results.

One fan said: "His performance was good and I’m sad for Michael," as others blamed Brexit .

Meanwhile, it was The Netherlands who went on to take the crown, beating Sweden to the top spot.

UK fans raced to support and praise Michael for his attempt on Twitter , proud of his performance and score despite the end result.
