Where coronavirus rates are lowest in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and Co Durham

The coronavirus continues to have a devastating impact on the whole of the region.

Yet official statistics reveal that some areas appear to be less hard hit than others with the Covid-19.

These areas are revealed in the publication of seven–day rates, released by the Government, which are expressed per 100,000 population.

They are calculated by dividing the seven day count by the area population and multiplying by 100,000.

Here we identify the postcode areas in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham with the lowest seven–day rolling rate of new cases up to the latest figures on November 4.

Figures go from zero to 400+ cases per 100,000 head of population. We list the 46 areas in this region with a rate of under 200 which is below the England average
