Where can you fly to in Spain from the UK? List of destinations for EasyJet, Jet2, TUI and Ryanair

The government has announced a traffic light system that will allow people to fly on holiday to Spain from the UK.

The new system will decide which nations are safe to travel to, with those classed as green or amber available to holidaymakers.

Austria, Barbados, Croatia, Germany, New Zealand, Thailand and Greece are some of the countries that have been given the 'green' light.

Spain, Australia, Belgium and Italy are on the amber list.

Under the system, quarantine restrictions will be lifted for people returning from those countries on the green and amber lists.

The full list of countries and exemptions is due to be announced by the government next week, with people being able to go on holiday to those destinations from the following week.

Previously the FCO had advised against all but essential travel but the Foreign Secretary has agreed that travel advice can be eased in countries and territories where the public health risk is no longer ‘unacceptably high’ and therefore advice ‘against non-essential travel’ can be lifted.

It's good news for the travel and tourism industry, as well as many of us missing the sunshine after changeable weather in June, especially here in the North East.

Airlines including Ryanair, EasyJet, Jet2 and TUI will all be operating routes to Spain this summer, meaning there are plenty of destinations on offer.
