Eighteen Canberra GPs will start their role in the next stage of the coronavirus vaccine rollout next week as health officials prepare to start phase 1b.
There will also be four Queanbeyan locations, as more than 1000 general practices join the vaccination program despite doctors raising concerns they won't get enough doses.

More GPs are expected to administer the vaccine in the coming weeks.
Health Minister Greg Hunt said the first GPs would come online from Monday, and increase to more than 4000 by the end of April as part the next phase of the vaccine rollout to priority groups in the broader population.
"There will be six million Australians in phase 1b, and not all will be able to be vaccinated immediately," he said.
Some community pharmacists would also participate in the program as the government comes under fire for a slow rollout.
"No one will miss out, whether they live in a city or country town or a very remote area," Mr Hunt said.
"This staged scale up will align with the supply of the locally produced AstraZeneca vaccine, and as more vaccine becomes available more services will come online."
Am I eligible for Phase 1b?
Phase 1b covers:
- People aged 70 or older who did not receive the vaccine during phase 1a
- Healthcare workers who did not receive a vaccine during phase 1a
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults
- Adults with underlying medical conditions
- Adults with disabilities who have underlying medical conditions
- Critical and high-risk workers such as defence workers, police, firefighters, emergency services and meat processing workers.
Adults with underlying medical conditions will need to prove their condition via the My Health Record, a health professional referral or a declaration form.

Where can I get the vaccine in Canberra?
Phase 1b vaccinations will be administered by general practitioners, as well as government-run respiratory clinics and the existing territory-run Pfizer vaccine hub.
People who fall under Phase 1b are responsible for organising their vaccination appointments.

My GP is not on the list. What do I do?
Not all practices will immediately be ready to administer vaccinations from Monday, and some aren't part of the rollout at all.
However, more GPs in Canberra will become involved in the rollout over the coming weeks.
If your doctor is not listed but would prefer to receive your COVID-19 vaccine from your usual GP, have a conversation with the clinic to see if they will be providing vaccinations later in the rollout.
