Where Bristol City, Leeds United and rest of Championship would finish in table since the restart

Bristol City finished just above the relegation places if the Championship table had started fresh when football returned in June.

The Robins lost their first four games of post-lockdown football before Lee Johnson was relieved of his duties as Bristol City manager and replaced by interim boss Dean Holden.

The former Bolton defender oversaw a upturn in results, registering two wins, two draws and one loss during his time as caretaker, however City would still be in a dire position had the table started again once football resumed.

The Robins would finish the adjusted table - where each team played nine games, in 20th, sitting just above Sheffield Wednesday, QPR, Hull City and Birmingham City.

Losses against Blackburn, Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City got the Robins off to the worst possible start upon the return of the Championship and saw the hopes of a play-off spot diminish.

It wasn't the end of season push that the club had hoped for and the focus is now solely on finding a new man to take them forward.

Leeds United finished as champions and were top of the table post-lockdown with 22 points out of a possible 27, shortly followed by Brentford on 21 points.

Cardiff, Wigan, Swansea and Fulham rounded off the top of the post-lockdown table, with Bristol City managing just eight points.
