'Where are the haters now?' - Chelsea fans react to Timo Werner's moment of magic in Leipzig draw

The Premier League may have resumed centre stage last night but that did not stop Chelsea fans from keeping a close eye on Timo Werner in action for RB Leipzig as Julian Nagelsmann's side as they drew 2-2 with Fortuna Dusseldorf.

And they were not disappointed as the 24-year-old scored his 26th Bundesliga goal of the season and his first since agreeing to join Frank Lampard's side for £53million.

Werner's goal was a beauty, too, putting him on 35 contributions for the campaign - a figure only bettered by Lionel Messi across Europe's top five leagues.

Here is what some of those online made of his strike and performance as Leipzig moved within two points of sealing a Champions League place with a pair of games remaining.

Nagelsmann's side remain in this season's Champions League, which will be concluded in Lisbon in a mini-tournament in mid-August, but Werner has indicated that he wants to withdraw.

That is so he can join Chelsea sooner and settle to life in London before next season begins.

The Blues, who trail Bayern Munich 3-0 after the first leg of their round of 16 tie, must face the Bavarians in Germany to complete their tie with the quarter-finals onwards being held in Portugal.

Kai Havertz also found the net for Bayer Leverkusen in their 3-1 win over Koln.

The versatile attacking midfielder is being monitored by Chelsea among others and is valued at around £90million.
