Where are Phillip and Holly on This Morning? Eamonn and Ruth on hosting duties after Friday 'snub'

There was a presenting shake up on Monday's This Morning, with usual hosting duo Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield missing in action.

Millions of viewers tune in every day to see the ITV stars front the daytime show, but they weren't in their usual home of the This Morning studio at the start of this week, with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford stepping into replace them.

Revealing news of the change to fans, Phillip explained: "Eamonn and Ruth are with you from Monday, but we'll see you on Christmas day..."

Phillip and Holly will be at the helm of This Morning as it airs to the nation for the first time ever on December 25 after special festive editions of Good Morning Britain, with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid and Lorraine.

However, none of the presenters will be at Television Centre on Christmas Day to film as all of the shows will be pre-recorded, so Phillip and Holly have now made their final live This Morning appearance of 2020.

It's not unusual for Phillip and Holly to take a break around the end of school term time, with them doing the same over the summer and Eamonn and Ruth standing in then as well.

The husband and wife duo's extended stint hosting the show comes after they lost their normal Friday slot to new presenting team Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, who will make their official Friday debut in early January.
