Where are Ireland's Love Island stars are now - finding love after the villa

Offering a just as captivating escape from the bleak reality of the Irish summer as the footy, Love Island has seen millions of people tune in and root for their favourite reality tv couples in the gorgeous Spanish villa.

It's been more than a year since viewers saw anything Love Island -related on the telly, with the winter edition crowning Paige Turley and Finn Tapp winners in January 2020.

With Laura Whitmore and Ian Stirling returning to airwaves this summer on ITV and Virgin Media One, the villa will see the return of a host of memorable characters all vying to find live (and the instant stardom that comes with just appearing on the show).

With a cash prize of £50,000 for the winning couple, the real reward for making it to the end of the competition are the opportunities that the status gives contestants.

Maura Higgins

From the mind that brought us "f**ny flutters", Higgins used her time on the show to line up presenting jobs on This Morning and later appeared on Dancing on Ice, which were reported to have earned the model, over €165,000.

She has also done collaborations with Ann Summers, Boohoo and tanning brand Bellaminta since appearing on the show.

Greg O'Shea

The Limerick rugby hunk and winner of the 2019 series and matched with Amber Rose Gill and the two went on to beat favourites Molly May Hague and Tommy Fury, making it a great day for Limerick people everywhere.

While O'Shea has been heard presenting the 2FM breakfast show alongside Doireann Garrihy, and appeared on Lodging with Lucy, his heart remains with rugby.

Love Island allowed him some financial security to continue his studies and continue to play the sport.

Responding to a fan on Instagram, O'Shea said: "Money isn't everything but you do need to make sure you are secure."

Meath's Yewande Biala brought brains and beauty to the villa, and has gone on to compete in RTE's Dancing with the Stars and is now a successful model and influencer with almost 800,000 Instagram followers.

She recently launched her own fashion line with clothing company shein.co.uk.

Rob Lipsett

In just three days Rob Lipsett made a huge impression on Irish audiences, mainly because that's all the time he had on the show.

Due to some behind the scenes drama with show producers over not stirring enough on camera, Lipsett's time on the show was short but he has since gone on to write a best-selling fitness book, 'The Rob Lipsett Game Plan', and is an ambassador for global fitness companies Ghost and Alpahlete.

Shannen Reilly McGrath

And now for the partner in crime.

Shannon's stint on Love Island 2017 was short-lived as she came and left the competitions on the same days as Rob Lipsett.

Unfortunately for Shannen, she faced further heartbreak the following year after losing boyfriend, Love/Hate star Dano Doyle, to a suspected drug death in prison.

She has since rekindled a relationship with childhood sweetheart Luke.
