Where are Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford and why are they not presenting This Morning?

This Morning fans may be surprised when they tune into today's show.

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary have taken over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield while they take a week-long break.

Viewers are more than familiar with Alison and Dermot by now as they have been hosting Friday This Morning together since January.

But prior to them taking over for the week, a trailer informed viewers of the changes.

This led to many asking why Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford were not presenting as it was half-term.

When the husband and wife presenting duo were swapped for Alison and Dermot every Friday, it was said that they'd return for the holidays.

Eamonn and Ruth were last seen on screen last month for the Easter break but fans were both upset and concerned that they haven't returned this week.

But they need not worry.

An ITV spokesperson said: "Alison and Dermot were always due to present next week.

"Eamonn and Ruth will be presenting over the summer," they revealed.

That didn't stop fans wanting the pair back sooner.

"Gutted is an understatement!!! Ruth and Eamonn will always deserve better #ThisMorning," one fan said after learning the news.

Another commented: "Alison and Dermot all next week? Nah? That’s not the bloody deal! They said we’d get Eamonn and Ruth in the holidays so where are Eamonn and Ruth? This takes the biscuit #ThisMorning."

"Bring Eamonn & Ruth back on #ThisMorning please," a third begged.
