When yellow cards are reset in the Championship and the Leeds United players at risk of suspension

The Championship season is now a third of the way through, with the table starting to take shape.

Nathan Jones became the latest managerial casualty at Stoke City as the Potters opted for fresh blood to get them away from relegation trouble.

With 15 matches played, the pressure is piling up on those near the bottom, who have had a fair amount of the season to work with.

Whilst there have been some clear underperformers in the Championship , injuries and suspensions have also played their part.

Under current FA rules, players that accumulate five bookings will receive a one-match ban.

Similarly, 10 bookings will see a player banned for two matches and three games for 15.

However, the Championship bookings do reset, allowing players the chance to wipe the slate clean after their early-season misdemeanours.

Following the completion of matchday 15, there are 27 different Championship players who all sit on four bookings for the season.

That leaves them walking a disciplinary tightrope as they bid to avoid a potential ban.

Sheffield Wednesday's Sam Hutchinson is tied for first position on the most bookings accumulated, alongside Preston North End's Darnell Fisher and Wigan midfield enforcer Sam Morsy.

The trio all have seven cards to their name, although in the case of Fisher and Morsy they have wracked up their seven cards in an astonishing 12 appearances, whilst Hutchinson has featured 14 times for the Owls.

With only three more matches separating them from a two-match ban, they'll be hoping to keep their noses clean until the card threshold resets.

That magic date is the weekend starting Saturday, December 7, also known as matchday 20 in the Championship.

FA rules state that the threshold will be reset after 19 Championship fixtures, which means players have only four more matches to negotiate through to avoid receiving a ban.

Barnsley, who sit 23rd in the Championship table, have accumulated the most bookings this season with 38 yellow cards to their name this term.

Leeds United's yellow cards

Leeds United take on Middlesbrough on at Elland Road on November 30, so players will need to get through that game before the threshold for a suspension is reset.

A further eight players have one yellow card, so with just four games to go before the reset (Blackburn at home, Luton and Reading away and then Boro), they should be all be safe. Only Stoke City have less yellow cards than Leeds in the Championship so far this season.
