'When will they learn?' Former Tottenham man makes Southampton vs Arsenal prediction

Dimitar Berbatov has offered his prediction ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Southampton tonight.

Back-to-back defeats was not the way anyone connected with Arsenal would have wanted the 2019/20 restart to have started, but that's what has happened.

Mikel Arteta also has a number of injuries to deal with ahead of tonight, where nothing but three points will do if the Gunners are to keep their slim top-four hopes alive.

But despite the negativity around the club at the minute, the former Manchester United and Tottenham forward is backing the Gunners to come out on top tonight.

Premier League match preview: Southampton v Arsenal

He told Betfair: "It is the same problem every time for Arsenal, how many mistakes do they have to make before they learn?

“Serious questions will be asked if they lose three in a row. I liked Arteta as a player and I'd like to see him succeed as a young manager. I want to see him have success, but sometimes the path to get there is a bit difficult.

“I don't want to see them lose three in a row, saying that Danny Ings is back from the restart scoring, so this isn't going to be an easy one for Arsenal, but they really need to finally start showing some balls and I think they just might in this one. Prediction: 1-2."
