With so many players involved in the global tournament later this year, both divisions will pause proceedings for a few weeks.

The 16th round of Premier League matches falls on November 12-13, and there will then be a pause for the World Cup in Qatar. The Championship will also stop at this stage.

The Championship is then set to resume on Saturday, December 10. League One and League Two games will continue as planned throughout the competition.

The World Cup final is on Sunday, December 18, with the Premier League resuming eight days later on Boxing Day.
