When will SpaceX launch after weather causes last minute cancellation of take off?

The historic NASA SpaceX has been postponed after poor weather conditions forced the last minute cancellation of lift off.

The Falcon 9 rocket had been due take off from launchpad 39A at the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida and journey to the International Space Centre at 4:33pm EDT (9:33pm BST) this evening.

The mission is a collaboration between billionaire Elon Musk and NASA and would have been the first rocket launch to take American astronauts into space from US soil in almost a decade.

But grey clouds and choppy waves in the Atlantic meant the rocket was unable to launch.

The next opportunities to launch the mission are 3:22pm EST (8:22pm BST) on Saturday or 3pm (8pm) EST on Sunday.

Astronauts Robert L. Behnken and Douglas G. Hurley are set to fly to the International Space Station and Musk has big plans if the mission is a success.

His SpaceX company could start to sell flights into orbit for people and companies, opening up new tourism and research opportunities.
