When will Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney's Wrexham AFC documentary air in the UK?

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney not only took over Wrexham AFC they are also making a documentary series - Welcome to Wrexham - about it, with American channel FX.

FX - the home of shows such as The Americans, American Horror Story, Sons of Anarchy - has ordered two series of the documentary which will see the stars of Deadpool and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia take over the Welsh club and chart the hopes and dreams of the club and the community around it.

They've already released a brilliant promo for Welcome to Wrexham with S4C reporter, Maxine Hughes, acting as translator for the pair and doing a great job of taking them down a peg or two.

The pair completed their £2million takeover of the National League Club in February of this year.

Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX Entertainment, said: “Rob and Ryan will take fans inside the sport as never before, pairing their genuine love for the game with the welcome challenge of building on the heritage of this club.”

The show is being made for FX by Boardwalk Pictures, so we're expecting it to be good.

Boardwalk are known for their factual shows like Chef's Table and Last Chance U on Netflix. It also made the Men in Kilts travel show featuring the Outlander stars.

But what we want to know is, when can we see Welcome to Wrexham, here in the UK?

Well, the show hasn't had a US airdate yet, so there's even less known about when it will air in the UK.

And there could be any number of options where it could air, here, too.

Many FX shows air on FOX in the UK, but, FX is also now owned by the Disney, so it could even find a home on Disney+, here. The latter is looking more likely.

We'll definitely be keeping an eye out so come back here for updates when we get them.
