When will Onward be on Disney Plus UK?

Pixar's latest release Onward is one of the many films to have its cinema run cut short following the coronavirus outbreak.

Cinema chains across the UK closed its doors due to the nationwide lockdown put in place by the government.

This means many people missed out on seeing Onward on the big screen as it was only in cinemas for a week before they closed.

Unfortunately the film might not be added to Disney+ any time soon. It was originally announced that the film would be added to the service but it was in the US only.

Instead the film will be released via on-demand services including Sky Box and Amazon Prime on Monday, May 4. Currently the film can be pre-ordered on Amazon Prime for £9.99.

A number of other Disney films have also been affected by cinema closures, with Artemis Fowl heading straight to Disney+ instead of cinemas this May and the live-action remake of Mulan being pushed back to July.

Plus the short which was screened ahead of Onward in cinemas - Playdate with Destiny - which follows Maggie Simpson was released on Disney+.

Once the on-demand release date of Onward is announced we'll update readers, and you can find out more about Disney+ on the website here.

Customers can sign up for a free seven-day trial then pay £5.99 per month or £59.99 per year.
