We’re now seeing light at the end of the tunnel and Ireland gradually opening up in the form of the Government's phased reopening plan.
Now many people are wondering when they’ll finally be able to visit their favourite places to grab a bite.
One of the most eagerly awaited reopenings is of course, McDonald's. But how will the reopening of the fast-food giant in Ireland be handled?

Which McDonald's open this week?
According to the Covid-19 update on the McDonald's website they will pilot their reopening by opening six drive-thru restaurant services in the Dublin area on Wednesday, May 20.
When will McDonald's open outside Dublin?
If Dublin is outside your 5km radius you will have to wait a little bit longer for your McDonald's fix. Drive-thrus in other towns and cities across Ireland will begin to open up in early June.
What will be different?
McDonald's, similar to other shops and businesses post-lockdown will have to operate in a way that will ensure the safety of staff and customers.
● From May 20th a €30 per car cap will be introduced and customers will be encouraged to pay using contactless methods.
● Contact-free thermometers will be installed into food preparation areas.
● Perspex screens will be introduced into kitchen and service areas in stores.
● Couriers and staff members serving the public will be required to wear gloves and face masks.
● Staff will be subject to additional training on cleanliness procedures as well as expected to increase sanitization of points of contact around the restaurants,
