When will M&S fully reopen? The latest on its clothing and homeware sections

Marks and Spencer is currently only open for food shopping.

A selection of its cafes are open, too, so those doing essential shops can pick up a coffee on the go.

However, this week Matalan and Dunelm decided to reopen some stores following new government guidelines, leaving many wondering if M&S has plans in place to fully reopen any time soon.

Currently, M&S is only operating Foodhalls in the UK with its clothing and homeware sections closed to the public.

Now Marks and Spencer has given an update on when shoppers can expect to see its clothing and homeware sections reopen, reports Manchester Evening News.

A spokesperson for M&S told the publication: We are working towards re-opening more space from June.

"We have supported the Government on its safer workplace guidance and await further information on its re-phasing plans.

"We've been successfully operating social distancing in our stores for some time and we will take our learning from this as we reopen our clothing business.

"Our 290 stores that sell both clothing & food are led by a single manager – so it means they already have a brilliant working knowledge of the necessary hygiene measures, how to manage social distancing and the flow of our customers in and out of their store."
