When will live music return to historic Dublin pubs?

Live music has been absent from Dublin nightlife for 18 months now but there is light at the end of the tunnel with a return date announced.

October 22 is the date all restrictions will be lifted as long as the 90% vaccination target is reached by then.

However, the date for the return of live music is different and in fact, has already taken place.

From September 6, live music has returned with different regulations on whether it's taking place indoors or outdoors.

Organised indoor events and mass gatherings can take place with capacity limits of 60% for those that are either fully vaccinated or recovered from covid 19 in the last six months or accompanied minors (under 18), in line with sectoral guidance.

For indoor music, drama, live entertainment, spectators should be seated at all times.

Outdoor events will also see up to 75% capacity permitted for people who are fully vaccinated or recovered from Covid 19 in the last six months.

A mixture of vaccinated and unvaccinated events will also be permitted, although the capacity of the venue will be reduced in that case.
