Met Office reveals when it will stop raining in Scotland after wet July

The Met Office and BBC Weather have updated their weather forecasts to reveal when it will stop raining across Scotland.

According to the Met Office's long-range report, which looks at the period lasting between August 5 to August 29, the weather should start improving very soon.

Despite a wetter start to the month, "some shorter-lived periods of drier, more settled weather are also likely, particularly later in the month.

"These may bring some warmer days, however, any prolonged dry and hot spells appear to be unlikely."

The BBC has also shared its weather forecast for August, saying: "It will be relatively cool for the time of year, with periods of rain, occasional thunderstorms and brisk winds, and brighter but showery interludes.

"However, there are signs of drier weather developing as high pressure builds around mid-August and into the second half of the month. Along with drier conditions, it should also become warmer than average for the time of year."
