When will Ireland's green list be published? All you need to know about safe travel countries

Ireland's green list was due to be released on Monday afternoon but has been delayed until later in the week.

The list will be of all the countries that are deemed to have a similar or better coronavirus cases incidence per 100,000 people than Ireland.

This means the likes of Spain and England will most definitely not be on it but places like Malta and Greece should make the grade.

Here's all you need to know about the green list and when it will be released.

When will the list be published?

After Monday's Cabinet meeting was cancelled it is not known exactly when the list will be released but it is still expected this week.

Another meeting will be scheduled upon Taoiseach Micheal Martin's return from Brussels.

Who will be on the list?

This is the big question and we already have a fair idea which countries will make it.

Holiday destinations like Portugal, Spain and France won't be on their as their incidence rate is huge compared to Ireland's.

The UK is the same as is Sweden and a few other major destinations like Croatia.

Malta, Greece and even Italy are currently set to make the list - you can read the 11 countries that should make it right here.

Will you be allowed travel to these countries?

The quarantine period of two weeks upon your return from these countries will be scrapped but the non-essential travel advice will remain.

NPHET are not recommending travel outside of Ireland at all this summer but the list will give the places considered to be relatively safe.
