When will GAA announce Championship formats for All-Ireland hurling and football?

Formats for this year's All-Ireland football and hurling Championships are set to be announced tomorrow by the GAA.

A press conference will see details released on how the competitions will look following the coronavirus suspension.

Reports indicate that the 2020 football Championship will be played on a straight knockout basis with no back door for the first time since the turn of the century.

Draws for the Munster and Leinster hurling Championships will take place on RTE during the Six One news tomorrow.

It is expected that the hurling Championships will retain the qualifier system but that the provincial hurling Championships will not include a round-robin stage.

Inter-county action returns on October 17 and it remains to be seen how the Allianz Leagues will be settled.

Adult players around the country have been non-contact training since Wednesday and juvenile players can do the same from Saturday.

Contact training and challenge games can take place from next Monday and competitive club fixtures return on July 17.

Inter-county teams will return to training from September 14.
