When will fans be allowed back to PGA Tour events?
Well, the goal was to have them on site at next week’s Memorial, which would have been the first event on the Tour’s restart during the global coronavirus pandemic to have fans.
Those plans were officially scrapped on Monday, with tournament host Jack Nicklaus saying: “We had a good plan in place. … in the end, we have the responsibility to recognize the health and safety of the players and all who attend the Memorial Tournament.”
This week’s Workday Charity Open will be the fifth event without fans, and it follows the Colonial, the RBC Heritage, the Travelers and last week’s Rocket Mortgage, all without spectators.

WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational
July 30-Aug. 2
The tournament’s official website says: “Tickets to the 2020 World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational remain on sale,” with daily grounds tickets ($30-$65) and Ultra Club tickets ($100-$200) as the options.
Barracuda Championship
July 30-Aug. 2
No fans. According to the tournament’s official website, the event “will be hosted without on-site spectators this year. This is in accordance with current California and Nevada County guidelines in place due to COVID-19.”
PGA Championship
Aug. 6-9
There will be no fans at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.
Wyndham Championship
Aug. 13-16
TBD. The tournament’s official website has a ticket page with this information: “Tickets on-sale date TBD due to COVID-19.” There are links that take users to a TicketMaster portal but there’s no further information there, so it appears that the Wyndham is in a holding pattern for now.
The Northern Trust
Aug. 20-23
The first event in the FedEx Cup playoffs is at TPC Boston and the tournament’s official website currently has a link for daily tickets: Wednesday ($25), Thursday-Friday ($45), Saturday-Sunday ($50) as well as weekly grounds ($175), Ultra Club ($160-$185) and Anchor Club ($400) tickets available. The website also states: “Tickets already purchased for the original dates (which was Aug. 13-16) will be honored for the new dates. For any questions, please contact ticketsupport@pgatourhq.com.”
The BMW Championship
Aug. 27-30
Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Illinois, is hosting and the tournament’s official website has a message that states “Ticket sales for the 2020 BMW Championship currently are on hold due to COVID-19. Updated information on ticket availability will be announced and posted here in the coming weeks.” Further, tickets purchased for the original tournament dates of Aug. 27-30 will be honored for the new dates, if fans are allowed to attend.
The Tour Championship
Sept. 4-7
The 2019-20 season-ender at East Lake in Atlanta was originally scheduled for Aug. 27-30. The tournament’s official website says “Single day tickets, granting access to tournament grounds and all public venues, are now available.” The tickets that are available are daily grounds tickets ($35-$75), weekly grounds ($300), daily Ultra Club ($60-$200) and weekly Ultra Club ($700). The website also states: “Tickets already purchased for the original dates will be honored for the new dates. For any questions, please contact ticketsupport@pgatourhq.com.”
