When will beauty salons, hairdressers and barbers open in Scotland during phase three?

Scots have now gone more than 100 days without getting their hair, nails or brows done during lockdown.

Beauty salons have now been given the green light to reopen in Phase Three of Scotland's route map out of lockdown.

One of the main things we have been looking forward to post-lockdown is a pampering session to spruce up our appearance.

So, when will beauty salons, hairdressers and barbers start welcoming back customers?

Nicola Sturgeon announced beauty services could restart again on Wednesday, July 22 in Phase Three.

It would previously announced that Scots could book a hair appointment from Wednesday, July 15.

Scots beauticians were frustrated in the earlier announcement felt after they hairdressers and barbers were given the green light.

The First Minister made the announcement as she confirmed Scotland has now entered Phase Three of lockdown.

She said it is the "most significant milestone yet" but warned that the easing of such restrictions "was the highest risk change we've made so far."

It is expected hairdressers will operate under a reduced one-metre social distancing rule, with rules relaxed as of today for some shops and services.

Most beauticians will be expected to wear PPE during treatments.
