When weather will be warmest in Bristol this weekend as mini heatwave hits

Bristol is set for some sunshine this weekend as a mini heatwave arrives in the UK.

Experts are predicting temperatures could soar on Sunday (September 15) as Hurricane Dorian brings tropical air towards the country.

The tail end of Dorian has brought strong winds and rain to the north this week, with the remnants of Tropical Storm Gabrielle delivering buffeting conditions from further up the US.

The Met Office predicts the twin tempests will bring tropical air, allowing temperatures to rise to the high twenties in some places.

According to the weather agency, temperatures in Bristol will hit 20C just in time for the Bristol Half Marathon.

Forecasters say it will be sunny in Bristol on Saturday (September 14), with highs of 20C expected at around 4pm.

The Met Office says it will be a similar story on Sunday and predict sunny intervals as well as highs of 20C again.

The outlook for Saturday to Monday says: "A dry, sunny and warm weekend for most, but cold at night. Monday turning cloudier with some rain."
