The Economist reminds us of an episode from press history when a king divorced the wife he had grown to hate. The conflict between George IV and Caroline of Brunswick was played out in the public prints, with the rabble-rousing William Cobbett taking Caroline's side. I rather like Adrian Monck's remark that Cobbett can be seen as "an ethical Piers Morgan". (Via The Economist)
