When the next bank holiday in England is and bank holiday dates for 2023

There are nine bank holidays in England in 2023 as an additional one has been added to the calendar for the coronation of King Charles III.

We've already had one of the bank holidays for 2023. January 2 was made a bank holiday this year for the New Year, as New Year's Day fell on a Sunday.

There is a three-month wait from New Year to the next bank holiday, Good Friday, which is swiftly followed by Easter Monday.

There are then three bank holidays in May - the usual Mondays off at the start and end of the month plus the King's coronation in between. They are followed by the late August bank holiday, then Christmas and Boxing Day to round off the year.

When is the next bank holiday in England?

As of January 2023, the next bank holiday will be Friday April 7. That's Good Friday and will be followed by another bank holiday on Easter Monday April 10.

When is Easter 2023?

Easter Sunday is on Sunday April 9 in 2023. Good Friday and Easter Monday bank holidays are on either side of the Easter weekend.

When are the May bank holidays in 2023?

There are three bank holiday Mondays in May 2023.

The first, the early May bank holiday, will take place on Monday May 1. A week later, there will be another bank holiday on Monday May 8, for the coronation of King Charles. That is an additional bank holiday for 2023.

The final May bank holiday is on Monday May 29.

As mentioned above, an additional bank holiday has been added to the calendar for the coronation of King Charles III. That's Monday May 8.

When is the August bank holiday in 2023?

As usual, the final Monday of August is a bank holiday in 2023. That's Monday August 28.

What day of the week is Christmas in 2023?

Christmas is on Monday December 25. That will be a bank holiday, as will Boxing Day on Tuesday December 26.
