The Europa League round of 32 draw date and who Arsenal, Man United, Celtic and Rangers can face

Arsenal left it until matchday six to book their place in the Europa League round of 32 draw.

The Gunners had the chance to confirm their passage when they faced Eintracht Frankfurt at the Emirates Stadium last month, knowing that a draw would have been enough.

However, they were beaten 2-1 in what turned out to be Unai Emery's final game in charge.

Freddie Ljungberg and Joe Willock preview Standard Liege clash

It was left up to Freddie Ljungberg to get the side over the line and a 2-2 draw against Standard Liege coupled with Frankfurt losing 3-2 at home to Vitoria means the Gunners finished as group winners.

The north London outfit have now joined Manchester United, Wolves, Rangers and Celtic in the hat for the round of 32 draw.

But when will Arsenal learn who stands in their way of reaching back-to-back finals? Here’s everything you need to know about the draw for the first knockout stage.

When is the draw?

The draw takes place on Monday, December 16 in Nyon, straight after the Champions League last-16 draw.

That’s set to take place at 11am, UK time, with the Europa League draw starting at midday.

Who’s in the draw?

The top two sides from the 12 groups will go through to the knockout stages, and will be joined by each of the third-placed teams from the Champions League.

A full list of the teams is below...

Seeded teams

Ajax, Arsenal, Basel, Benfica, Braga, Celtic, Espanyol, Gent, Internazionale Milano, İstanbul Başakşehir, LASK, Malmö, Manchester United, Porto, Salzburg, Sevilla

Unseeded teams

APOEL, AZ Alkmaar, Bayer Leverkusen, CFR Cluj, Club Brugge, Copenhagen, Eintracht Frankfurt, Getafe, Ludogorets, Olympiacos, Rangers, Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sporting CP, Wolfsburg, Wolves

How does it work?

The seeded teams can only be drawn against the unseeded sides, with the first leg taking place at the home of the unseeded team, while the second leg will be at the seeded side a week later.

Teams from the same group or country cannot be drawn together, meaning Manchester United, Arsenal and Wolves will all avoid each other as will Celtic and Rangers.

The two Scottish sides could be drawn against any of the Premier League clubs though.

When are the last-32 ties?

February 20, 2020: Round of 32, first leg

February 27, 2020: Round of 32, second leg

February 28, 2020: Round of 16 draw, Nyon
