The Championship regular season is now over with the final night of action taking place on Wednesday evening.
The season has been one like no other with a three month delay causing action to rumble on to the end of July and even into August by the time the playoffs are wrapped up.
But with the end of the Championship season now ticked off for all but four, clubs and their fans have acclimated to the new normal, as temporary as it may be.
One thing that hadn’t been sorted until recently, however, is the summer transfer window, which was supposed to open at the start of July, with Bristol City getting ready for what could turn out to be a busy summer at Ashton Gate.
But the dates have now been locked in and below, we run you through what you need to know.
When will the transfer window open?
The Premier League and EFL windows will officially open on July 27, after the conclusion of the top flight season.
Interestingly, that is before the Championship playoff final, which isn’t until August 4.
But the EFL have confirmed any new signings must not play for their new clubs until the 2020/21 season.
The dates are subject to FIFA approval.
When will the transfer window close?
The transfer window is set to close after 10 weeks on October 5.
Though, under the proposals, Premier League and EFL clubs will still be able to get deals done as part of a domestic-only window from October 5-October 16.
That window will close on Friday, October 16 at 5pm.
What is the domestic-only window?
The two-week extension will allow clubs to do deals between the Premier League and EFL clubs, as well as between EFL clubs, but top flight teams will not be able to swap players between each other.
In a statement, the Premier League said: “During this window, clubs will only be able to trade with EFL clubs (either loans or permanent registrations).
"No transfers can take place between Premier League clubs in this period."
The EFL added: "The window for international registrations closes at 23:00 BST on Monday, 5 October, with an agreement in place with the Premier League for an extended two-week domestic-only window, which will close at 17:00 on Friday, 16 October."
