When the Championship 2019/20 fixtures are released for Charlton, Fulham, QPR and others

Fixture release day is here in the Premier League.

But while top flight sides will learn their schedule at 9am today, clubs in the English Football League, including the likes of Brentford, Charlton Athletic, Fulham, Millwall and Queens Park Rangers in the Championship will have to wait a bit longer.

That's because the fixtures for the Championship, League One and League Two will not be released until next Thursday.

All 72 clubs in the EFL will learn their fate then, with fans then able to start planning their respective campaigns.

But when will the season start? We take a look below at the key dates for clubs in the EFL.

Fixture release day

The fixtures for clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two will learn their schedule for the coming season on Thursday, June 20 , at 9am.

The opening day of the new season

The opening round of fixtures in the Championship, League One and League Two will take place over the first weekend in August, with the majority set to take place on Saturday, August 3 .

But the new season is likely to kick off with a live game on Friday, August 2.

The Carabao Cup

The first round of the Carabao Cup is due to take place in the week commencing Monday, August 12.
