When the 2020/21 Premier League season begins and ends for Leeds United

Leeds United and the other 19 Premier League clubs know when the 2020/21 season will begin and conclude.

Last month at a Premier League shareholders meeting that took place via video link, it was agreed that the new season will start on September 12 - just 48 days after the 2019/20 season ended.

As a result of the previous campaign finishing more than two months later than planned, the start of the 2020/21 campaign has been pushed back.

Premier League opening day fixtures 'leaked'

Originally scheduled for 8 August, the Premier League is now set to start over a month later than planned and conclude on May 23.

"Premier League Shareholders today agreed to start the 2020/21 Premier League season on 12 September 2020," a statement from the Premier League read.

"The final match round of the campaign will take place on 23 May 2021.

"The Premier League will continue to consult The FA and EFL regarding the scheduling of all domestic competitions."

The key dates can be found below.

Fixture release date: Thursday, August 20 - 9 am

Opening day: Saturday, September 12

Final day: 23 May 2021
