When Swansea City will learn Rhian Brewster fate and the reason Liverpool will snub Leeds United interest

Swansea City are set to discover if their pursuit of Rhian Brewster has been successful following Liverpool's FA Cup clash with Everton on Sunday.

Head coach Steve Cooper has been linked with the teenage forward for weeks and despite saying that he expects no signings next month, rumours of a reunion with Brewster have remained.

Cooper and the 19-year-old worked with each other during their time in the England set-up and that is said to be boosting Swansea's hopes of landing the starlet on loan.

Jurgen Klopp wants the youngster to go to a team who will give him guaranteed minutes. His progress at Anfield is currently blocked by an array of talent at the German manager's disposal.

But it is believed that the young England man could see game-time against the Toffees in the cup at the weekend, with a decision then to be made over his short-term future.

Leeds United, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have also been tracking him, but Liverpool have reservations over sending him to Elland Road having seen Arsenal starlet Eddie Nketiah return to the Emirates Stadium after finding opportunities limited under Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites are now reportedly turning their attentions to Southampton forward Che Adams in a bid to boost their Premier League amibitions.

Reports emerged over the weekend stating that Swansea were "on the brink" of signing Brewster until the end of the season.

When questioned Cooper denied anything was close or indeed in place, but the Athletic reported on Monday that formal talks had been held between the parties.
