When Spurs' match at Bournemouth could potentially be rearranged for ahead of Ajax second leg

Tottenham's success in the Champions League on Wednesday evening now means the team have a very busy end to the season in the Premier League and in Europe.

Facing a battle to seal a place in the top four after a poor run of form in the league at the end of February and in March, the Lilywhites now have two extra games on the agenda in the Champions League as they face Ajax for a place in the final.

The first leg will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday, April 30, with the return leg in Amsterdam the following Wednesday.

Spurs' place in the semi-finals now means that the team's game away at Bournemouth on Monday, May 6 will need to be rearranged as it is currently down to be played 48 hours before the game in Holland.

Liverpool are also in a similar boat to Spurs as they need to move their fixture against Newcastle United due to their semi-final clash on the Tuesday against Barcelona.

The Reds were due to play the day before Tottenham's game in Bournemouth but the Liverpool Echo are reporting that their crucial game in the title race will almost certainly be moved to the Saturday with a 7.45pm kick-off a real possibility.

That would then leave the 4.30pm slot free on the Sunday, thus allowing Spurs and Bournemouth to fill it so Sky Sports still have two games taking place on that day.

While there is no guarantee that will be the case, it wouldn't be a surprise at all if it happened.

Mauricio Pochettino will want as much time as possible to prepare for the second leg, although it is worth remembering that the team did play on a Sunday before their Round of 16 first leg tie against Borussia Dortmund on the Wednesday.

A Saturday game also remains an option and it could mean some games already set for television could potentially be moved to accommodate Spurs.

The club will announce a new date for the game in due course once it is finalised.
