When snow is forecast to fall in Greater Manchester next week, according to the Met Office

Greater Manchester could see its first snow of autumn in the 'second half' of next week, according to the Met Office.

Temperatures are set to plummet as we go into the start of next week - with it getting cold enough that we could see some wintery showers.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "We expect, from the middle part of next week, for colder air to reach the UK from the north and throughout the week.

"So with that, we will see rain showers likely in northern parts of the UK.

“So around Manchester we’re likely to see some showers at times, feeling rather cold with overnight frost likely and showers of rain quite likely.

“These showers could be much over high ground, but there’s a small chance you could see them fall of snow for a time, to lower levels.

“But it’s most likely at this stage to be rain."

Meanwhile, the BBC predicts heavy snow in Oldham on Saturday (27 November), with light snow showers on the Thursday (25 November) and sleet showers on the Friday (26 November).

Trafford could expect light snow showers on Thursday (25 November) and Saturday (27 November), with sleet showers on the Friday (26 November).

Ashton-under-Lyne could see light snow showers on Thursday (25 November).

The rest of Greater Manchester could encounter sleet showers from Thursday to Saturday (27 November).
