Votes have been cast and counting is now well underway at venues across Scotland – including at Ingliston in Edinburgh.
More than half of all constituencies are expected to declare results on Friday, with the first batch set to start filtering in this afternoon.
The City of Edinburgh Council shared a short video this morning of ballots being counted at Highland Hall, while reporting that the postal vote turnout across the city was 91,068 (89.2 per cent) – a new record.
So when will all votes be counted, and results released to the public?
Well, earlier this week the Electoral Management Board released provisional dates which give us a good idea of what to expect and when.
The final result may not come in until later on Saturday with 26 constituency results, and the regional lists, expected then. A total of 47 constituency results are likely to be confirmed today, as reported by the Daily Record.
What results can we expect on Friday?
Edinburgh Central, Edinburgh Southern and Edinburgh Western, along with Midlothian North and Musselburgh, are among the results we're expected to find out today.
