When Ryan Sessegnon could finally make his Tottenham debut following £30m summer transfer

Ryan Sessegnon is yet to make his Tottenham Hotspur debut.

The wonderkid was one of two new arrivals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on transfer deadline day - along with Giovani Lo Celso - in a move which was certainly a signal of intent for the north London outfit going into the new campaign.

However, Sessegnon missed the first four games of the season as a result of the hamstring injury sustained on international duty with the England Under-21's during the summer.

He did return to training ahead of the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace last month, but suffered a setback with a recurrence of the hamstring problem and has been on the sidelines ever since.

With that said, Sessegnon as well as Lo Celso are "entering late stages of rehabilitation" and could soon be available for selection.

But when could the former finally make his Spurs bow?

Our Spurs writer Alasdair Gold gave his thoughts on the topic during an Q&A session with fans on Thursday where he said not to expect Sessegnon to be rushed back by Mauricio Pochettino.

"Both summer signings have been in the final stages of rehabilitation this month and there is hope that they will to return to training within the next fortnight," he said. "However, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll get straight back into matchday squads.

"I asked Pochettino about the two players last week and he said that even when they’re back in training it’s going to take some time to get them up to speed in terms of their fitness.

"Neither of them had proper pre-seasons in the first place which won’t have helped that base fitness and with Sessegnon in particular, Spurs are going to be very cautious with him after he aggravated that hamstring problem on his initial return to training last month.

"The Spurs boss has been pretty unlucky in losing two out of his three summer signings to injuries on international duty, with Tanguy Ndombele also missing three weeks through injury.

"Pochettino desperately needs the fresh injection of enthusiasm the two summer signings would bring to his squad but he’s going to have be patient, or risk losing them for even longer."
