Primark will be open for 39 consecutive hours in the MetroCentre once non-essential retailers are allowed to reopen.
Gateshead MetroCentre has confirmed when the budget fashion retailer will be open in December, along with other big names in the shopping mall.
Primark announced last week that it plans to open some sites for 24 hours when stores reopen after lockdown on December Wendesday December 2.
The MetroCentre update confirms Primark will be open all day and night, but only between December 2 and December 3, as things stand. After that, the MetroCentre Primark will shut at 10pm in December.
Primark says the extended opening hours will help customers spread out and allow them to choose quieter times to shop, following big queues outside its stores when they reopened after the first national lockdown and ahead of closing for the November lockdown.
"As we reopen our doors for the festive season we’ll be keeping our stores open for longer for safer shopping, giving you more time to shop, reducing the queues and making it easier to maintain social distancing," Primark's website states.
