When Pablo Fornals could make his West Ham debut after £25m transfer

Many West Ham fans are asking when they will get to see new signing Pablo Fornals in action in claret and blue for the first time following his £25m summer move from Villarreal.

The Spanish midfielder signed for the Hammers nearly a month ago but hasn't met his new teammates yet as he has been involved in international duty and is now on holiday.

Not that it has stopped him getting to know his new city as he arrived in London late last week to have a look around, be a tourist for a few days and also headed to London Stadium where he will be plying his trade for the next five years.

His new teammates have been out in Switzerland for the past eight days at a training camp in Switzerland which will culminate with a friendly against SCR Altach on Thursday afternoon.

From there they will jet off to China (via London) for the Premier League Asia Trophy between July 13 and the 23rd and football.london understands that Fornals won't be making that trip either.

He is therefore likely to make his debut against Fulham in the club's fourth friendly of the summer on July 27 in west London and follow that up with home debut against Athletic Bilbao for the Betway Cup friendly at London Stadium on August 3.

Speaking of his visit to E20 late last week, the 23-year-old was suitably impressed with what he saw despite the pitch currently in a bit of a mess following the Major League Baseball games on it the weekend before last.

He told the Hammers official website : "I knew about the fans, about the stadium, which is a beautiful stadium.

"The fans fill a stadium that can fit a lot of people every weekend and I think it is also important to play with the support of your fans at home.

"They fill the stadium, a stadium where there are 60,000 thousand people. They fill it every weekend, which is something admirable, especially with the passion with which football is lived here in England."
