When Nottingham Forest's new signings are likely to make their debut

Nottingham Forest enjoyed a hectic transfer deadline day as the Reds made three signings and offloaded three more before the window slammed shut.

The Reds added defender Mohamed Drager to their squad on a permanent transfer from Olympiacos as he came in to replace Jordan Gabriel who joined Blackpool for a fee of around £700,000.

With Jordi Osei-Tutu picking up an injury in the defeat to Blackburn following his arrival from Arsenal and Gabriel departing, Drager, Jayden Richardson and Fin Back are all competing for the right-back spot.

Unless Osei-Tutu is fit, it is likely that Drager may get the nod to make his debut when the Championship programme resumes after the international break with the Reds hosting Cardiff at the City Ground on Sunday, September 12.

At left-back, Max Lowe will surely start against the Bluebirds after signing his season-long loan from Sheffield United in what has been a problematic position for the Reds given Gaetan Bong's form.

In midfield, fans may have to wait to see new man Braian Ojeda be given the nod to start in the heart of the engine room as he gets acclimatised to life in a new country.

He is currently away on international duty with Paraguay but you sense in time he will offer serious competition to play alongside James Garner in the heart of the midfield.

It may well be that he will be included on the bench against the Bluebireds and be given minutes that way in a bid to introduce him to Championship football rather than plunge him straight into the action.

As for Xande Silva, and very much like Ojeda, it may be a case that Hughton takes his time to bring the former West Ham attacker up to speed rather than launch him straight at the deep end.

A place on the bench against Cardiff may be the best course of action in terms of introducing him to the Reds and he does provide a great degree of flexibility.

He can play out wide or up front meaning should he wish to change a striker or a wideman, he knows Silva can play either role.
