When next Nottingham Forest signing will arrive for medical

Toronto defender Richie Laryea is close to completing his move to Nottingham Forest.

The 26-year-old will touch down in England to undergo his medical in the next 24 hours, NottinghamshireLive understands .

Laryea was a major target for Forest heading into the January transfer window and head coach Steve Cooper is now close to getting his man.

He will arrive for his medical tomorrow ahead of his move to the City Ground.

The BBC's Natalie Jackson tweeted earlier today that Forest were "looking to sign" Layrea.

She wrote: "Nottingham Forest are looking to sign Canadian international Richie Laryea. He is a highly rated 26 year old full back playing in the MLS for Toronto."

Laryea is highly regarded in the MLS for his attacking runs from full-back and speaking back in August he says he has come a long way.

“I don’t do it often, and maybe I should sit down and reflect to see how far I’ve come,” said Laryea.

“My parents remind me, some of my friends remind me. If you would’ve told me at the end of 2018 that I’d be where I am right now — I have a lot of belief in myself, and I think you have to as a player — but with the way things were going I probably would have looked at you sideways.

"It’s a nice experience and it’s one that I don’t take for granted.”
