When Met Office says weather will be at its worst in Bristol today

Just one week after Storm Ciara battered the UK, Storm Dennis has brought further severe weather.

The storm, described as a 'bomb cyclone' by forecasters, arrived late on Friday night and brought strong gusts and heavy rain to Bristol yesterday.

Today (February 16) there are yellow weather warnings in place for both wind and rain - but the storm is expected to ease up this evening.

Heavy rain is expected to last until around 2pm with a 90 per cent chance of precipitation until then, with temperatures of 9°C.

We are bringing you live traffic and weather updates here.

But at around 3pm the rain is expected to die down with the Met Office forecasting light showers and only a 40 per cent chance of rain.

As early evening approaches there is even a chance of sunny intervals, before the rain returns at around 7pm.

Strong gusts of wind are expected to remain throughout the day though, with highs of 43 miles per hour this evening.

The weather agency's South West forecast for today says: "A very wet and windy morning for all, with some heavy bursts of rain likely.
