When Manchester United and Man City will learn their UEFA Champions League schedule

Manchester United and Manchester City are hoping for a successful European campaign following the Champions League group stage draw for the 2020/21 season.

The draw was made on Thursday in Geneva by former Chelsea players Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda with the competition set to kick off on October 20.

Manchester City were, of course, knocked out of by Lyon last season in controversial circumstances, with Pep Guardiola yet to make it past the quarter-final stage since arriving at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester United were knocked out of the Europa League by eventual winners Sevilla in the last four but finished third in the Premier League to earn a place amongst Europe's elite.

A new season brings new optimism, however, and City have been handed a relatively kind draw after being placed into Group C with FC Porto, Olympiakos and Marseille.

United, by contrast, face much sterner tests on paper, with losing finalists Paris-Saint Germain, semi-finalists RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir FK in Group H.

When will the fixtures be played?

Manchester City have been placed into a Tuesday group, whilst United are in a Wednesday group, meaning all of their matches will be played on that day of the week.

But they won't know which order they will play each team in their group until later this week.

That's because the Champions League group stage fixture list will not be released by UEFA until Friday.

Though, what we do know is the date of each of the fixtures.

You can see those dates for each matchday below.
