It's been a long time confirmed, but there is finally a date for Vera's return to ITV, after fans have waited for ages to see the last two episodes of series 11.
It was back at the end of August 2021, after Covid delayed the start of production a year earlier, that the eleventh series of the smash hit Sunday night drama made its debut. However, after being delighted to see Brenda Blethyn and Kenny Doughty, who recently won a top TV award and their Vera co-stars back in actions, ITV viewers were then left disappointed when it was then pulled from schedules after just two episodes.
The series resumed at the start of 2022, only for exactly the same thing again. Fans got to see episode three of series 11, which involved a pursuit through South Shields' famous Ocean Beach theme park and episode four, before it disappeared from TV guides for a second time in six months, wth its usual Sunday slot being occupied by a new series of The Good Karma Hospital and the launch of Vicky McLure's Trigger Point.

The move sparked confusion, given that it had previously been announced that all of Vera series 11 was in the can and then UK based fans were left angry on hearing that viewers in America had been able to see episodes five and six on BritBox in the States.
However, after close to a year's absence from screens, Vera is officially coming back.
When is Vera back on ITV?
Vera will return to screens on Sunday, January 15 at 8pm, right after the launch of the new series of Dancing on Ice, the show that it has often followed in schedules for years.
The new was confirmed in a very brief tweet posted by ITV Press Centre on Wednesday afternoon, which read: "Confirmed: Vera returns Sunday 15 January at 8pm on @ITV1 and @ITVX.
It was then confirmed that the first episodes to air would be the last two from series 11, which will be followed by four brand new ones from series 12.
