Khabib Nurmagomedov, following his victory over Justin Gaethje in the lightweight unification bout, announced his retirement from the sport citing his inability to continue without his late Father.
Khabib won the fight with a triangle chokehold in the second round and immediately broke down in tears in the middle of the octagon.
Looking ahead, UFC 255 will be headlined by Brazilian Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo and American Alex Perez.
Figueiredo has just one defeat to his name from a total of professional MMA fights. In his last bout, against Joseph Benavidez for the then-vacant Flyweight Championship at UFC Fight Night 172, he earned the Performance of the Night Award.
November 21 could turn out to be a good night for Brazilian fighting. Jennifer Maia will be co-headlining the event in her fight with the current women's Flyweight Champion, the Peruvian Valentina Shevchenko.
The event is set to be hosted at the APEX facility in Las Vegas.
